Star Wars
As most people already know, the third episode of Star Wars came out on dvd last week. My fiance is a HUGE Star Wars fan and he has been addicted to playing this Star Wars xbox game for the last two or three weeks! Anyways, a day before the dvd came out, he decided that he was going to watch the first two episodes over again to prepare himself for the third. Now, I swear that this is the truth, but I have NEVER seen any of the Star Wars episodes. I don't even remember seeing episodes IV-VI, but I was aware of the fact that Darth Vadar was the evil character and Luke Skywalker was a good guy. I had no idea how the characters related to one another, so I would definitely have failed the most basic Star Wars trivia quiz if I was ever made to take one. But I knew that my fiance had a goal to somehow get me to watch the entire series.
I'm not really a fan of sci-fi movies or fantasy type of stories. I tried getting into the Harry Potter series but I just wasn't feeling it. Erwin managed to get me to watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, but he had a little help. The company that we both used to work for decided that our annual holiday party would be a private screening of "Return of the King" on its opening day, so I wanted to understand what I was about to watch. We watched "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Two Towers" a few nights before I saw the third movie, and I was so glad that I was able to see all three back to back! I actually enjoyed it!
So, back to the Star Wars thing, I was laying down on the couch when he decided to watch the first episode, so I watched it along with him since I didn't have anything else to do. Of course, I asked him so many questions just so that I could keep the people straight in my head. Then we moved on to the second episode and I realized how cute Hayden Christensen was. Soon after that, we moved onto the third episode and I realized that Hayden Christensen is pretty HOT! Oh, and I saw Anakin Skywalker transform into Darth Vadar.
Of course, I didn't want the story to end there, so we continued on with episodes IV-VI. I have to admit that IV-VI was much more funny and a little goofier than the first three episodes. I kind of feel like the first three episodes were taken a little too seriously, but I still appreciated it for what it was.
