John Spencer

I just read on the internet that actor, John Spencer, has died at the age of 58 due to a heart attack. He played the Chief of Staff on "The West Wing" and, strangely enough, his character suffered a heart attack on the show and survived. His character on the show was running for Vice President alongside Jimmy Smits' character, but the results of the election weren't going to air until February or March. The producers have not discussed what will happen to the story due to his death.

I've always loved "The West Wing" and I recently bought seasons 1-4 on DVD and watch the reruns on Bravo all of the time. I've fallen in love with all of the characters and the actors themselves, and it makes me truly sad to hear that John Spencer has passed on. John Spencer was a great actor, and from what his colleagues have said, an awesome person. He will truly be missed.
