Eating, shopping, vacuuming, mopping, curling, etc.
The only thing that the activities listed above have in common is that I did them all today. Here's how it all went...
I woke up this morning and had a craving for some Hawaiian BBQ. A few years ago during a visit here, my friend tried to bring us to this restaurant called Da Kine's but it was closed. Then, Erwin and I had dinner with another couple and they told us that Da Kine's was the best Hawaiian BBQ they've ever had. So, we finally had the opportunity to try out their food today, and boy was it yummy! I ordered the beef teriyaki plate and Erwin ordered the chicken katsu. The marinate was perfect and the macaroni salad was the best I've EVER had! I wasn't shocked at how busy it was on a weekday (all of the internet reviews said it would be packed), but I was surprised that so many different kinds of people came to eat there (meaning it wasn't mostly islanders and Asians). I accidentally ordered a regular sized plate when I meant to order a small, but now I'm glad because I have leftovers for later!
Erwin and I went to Target for the third time in a week! We always manage to forget something we needed and end up having to go back. I know, I know, we should make a list, but we never think to write one out if we only need two or three things. And there is something about Target that makes us forget what we actually came there for once we walk through the sliding doors! Everything is eye-candy for me! One time we went there with the intention of buying paper towels, and we ended up walking out with two bicycles and completely forget about the paper towels! But today, we remembered to get what we came there for; spray cleaner for pet messes. I also bought a mop, bucket, multi-purpose cleaner and cereal.
When we got home, I began working on vacuuming and cleaning up the living room and kitchen. We've been kind of lazy about cleaning up lately, and looking at the mess was getting to me. I felt like I couldn't be productive with anything until I straightened the house up. The doggies were terrified of the vacuum cleaner so they all huddled together on top of the couch while I sucked up all of the dust bunnies. Then, I filled a bucket full of hot water and pine-sol and mopped the entire kitchen and living room. I love the way the house looks now!
Today, I received a set of new hot rollers in the mail that I ordered from Amazon.com. Last week, I attempted to curl my hair with a curling iron and it took me FOREVER to get it done! My hair is the longest that it has ever been, so it takes so much time to make sure that I get every strand. I tried using my rollers a little while ago and I think I really need to practice using them. I like how the curls came out, but I need to perfect the technique of rolling the hair neatly.
Oh, and I did watch the Curling match between the USA and Canada, and unfortunately, the USA team lost :o(
